Book of the month #2

Book of the month #2

My book of the month for February (2023) was inspired by our coming up trip to Italy. Check out our Italy honeymoon itinerary! If you like historical fiction, European history, have an upcoming trip to Italy, or just like reading, check out Eternal by Lisa Scottoline.

Like I mentioned in my first book of the month, I want to read more. My goal for 2023 was 2 books a month. I’m probably not there yet, but that’s okay 🙂 If you’re looking for literary expertise or awards, I’m not your person. But if you’re looking for something enjoyable to read that might inspire wanderlust or your next trip, read on!

Eternal is a book about 3 friends (teenagers) growing up in Rome during WWII. As time goes on the war comes to Italy, the friends deal with different challenges of survival and identity. Historical fiction is one of my favorite types of genres. Although the book can be hard to read at times because of difficult circumstances, but I strongly believe we can’t move forward making our work a better place if we don’t know our history.

Lisa Scottoline does a great job of making you feel like you’re in Rome. I also didn’t know much about what Italy was like during WWII. We often hear and read about the experiences of people in Germany, Poland, or France. But you will learn more in this book.

I won’t say too much because I don’t want to ruin the book for anyone! I highly recommend reading this book. Grab a cup of coffee this weekend and enjoy!

I bought her book at Target, but you can also find it on Amazon.

I hope you enjoyed this book of the month (#2)!
